Forum: Index General discussion How to: The Color Change Glitch

This is Burnopedia's Color Change Glitch tutorial. This glitch allows you to change the color of Platinum/Gold Cars, Carbon Cars, GT Nighthawk (and its toy variant). You are also able to change the color of the PCPD Special (finish 1-3). You also require the Cops n' Robbers DLC pack for this glitch.

  1. While in an online freeburn room, enter the junkyard and select the Inferno Van (not the BRT version) Finish 1 - Pearlescent. Select the color to the left of the color you want your desired vehicle to be colored.
  2. Leave the junkyard and then re-enter.
  3. Select the car you want to change the color of but make sure that it is the first vehicle to appear within the junkyard after the Inferno Van you just entered with.
  4. Then get the host to start a Cops and Robbers game with the host lock set to the Inferno Van. make sure that you are on the robbers team. Also make sure the host isn't using a gold or platinum finish on their van.
  5. Once the game has started, drive to the end of the railroad on Gabriel Av and then float the van.
  6. If you don't know how to float the van refer to this video.
  7. be sure not to press any buttons although it is ok to move the camera, change the current playing song and view the map.
  8. Once the van's wheels are above the billboard to the right get the host to end the cops and robbers game then start a Marked Man freeburn game.
  9. Once started wait until a player has been selected then get the host to end the Marked Man game. You may press down on the accelerator which will bring the van back down to the road.
  10. Drive to the nearest paint shop and go through it. The colour that the van changes to will be the colour of the car you are painting.
  11. Now enter the junkyard and select the car you wanted the paint. Make sure it is the first vehicle to load.
  12. The car should now be a different color to the default.

Hosting Question Edit

can you achieve this as the host or does somebody else have to host? Kuskus74 12:18, May 5, 2010 (UTC)

You can't do the glitch if you're the host.

Yes in fact, you can host to glitch your cars. It only works if the PCPD car you set up can be coloured. Look at what I found recently:

That's an interesting video! I'm wondering if it works with the Nighthawks as well.

I'm lead to believe that colouring the nighthawk won't work. After watching the video a number of times, this only works if the car you want to colour has a pcpd version of itself that has a colour palette. In that video that person wanted to colour a Hawker. The PCPD Hawker happens to be one o the cops cars that have colours to choose from. So unless there's a PCPD Nighthawk that has a colour palette (which there isn't), I'd say that a Nighthawk can't be coloured through this alternate method
