Astaire was the first update for Burnout Paradise - v.1.10. It was released on released January 22, 2008. Unlike the other, 'Game Changing Content' updates, Astaire was extremely small, and little known. It fixed a firewall and security bug, a problem encountered online which was discovered in the demo. It has helped a number of people trying to get online and repeatedly getting kicked out of games due to connection errors.

During its release, other forums were surprised or confused by the release of this update. People were hoping it would change button mappings for controls when Paradise was still young and the controls were still getting used to.

The update wasn't named Astaire until the Bogart update was released and Criterion decided to name each update based on the alphabet (which fell through after Davis' official name was changed to Burnout Bikes).
