The Carson Annihilator Street Rod is one of 9 new vehicles that was released in Burnout Paradise's Big Surf Island Update on June 11th, 2009. This version of the Carson Annihilator features a unique new livery, black "street" style rims, identical to those of the Jansen X12, XS12 and Carbon X12, and a larger, more powerful engine than previous Annihilator models. The Aggression boost has been converted to Speed boost. The boost power is maxed out at 10, making the Street Rod the fastest Annihilator in the game. Much like the other Hot Rods in Paradise City, the Street Rod performs Wheelies. When its Boost is engaged at low speeds, the car will momentarily be locked in a straight line. If the driver isn't facing in the right direction when boosting, this side-effect could leave them accelerating straight into a wall.

[edit] Description
The Annihilator Street Rod represents the crowning glory of blue collar street racing. With a Speed Boost system and a maxed out boost speed, there's a definite speed theme going on here! This baby has nothing to fear from any race track bred supercar show ponies.

[edit] Resemblance
The Annihilator Street Rod model resembles a 1971 Plymouth Road Runner or Plymouth GTX with custom bodywork, and a much more powerful big block engine.
[edit] Notes
- This car was first glimpsed on PlayStation Network's Qore and was later seen in the Big Surf Island trailer released on May 22, 2009. At about one minute into the video, it can be seen jumping through a hoop on Big Surf Island. About twenty seconds later, it's showcased racing alongside the Hunter Olympus Governor.
- Details on this vehicle were first revealed in a news article created by Criterion Games on Friday, June 5th, 2009.
- The Annihilator Street Rod's boost acceleration is impressive, but is not on par with the Carson GT Nighthawk or the Carson Extreme Hot Rod.
- The first in-game footage of the Street Rod was featured in Criterion's Crash TV: Episode 34 on June 8th, 2009.
- This vehicle cannot be used in an Online Cops and Robbers.
- This car is heavier than most speed-type cars, and as such cannot perform some of the larger Super or Mega Jumps very well, and is poor at barrel rolling. Despite that, the vehicle handles well at top speed.
- This vehicle sometimes bottoms out and loses control when taking sharp downhill corners.
- Because of its top speed, boost power, and heavy weight, the Street Rod surpasses both the Citizen and the Civilian when it comes to downhill speed.
- The Street Rod's headlamps do not operate during evening hours in Paradise City.
