Eliminator is an event that first debuted in Burnout 3: Takedown and later appeared in Burnout Revenge, Burnout Legends & Burnout Dominator. It works similarly to a normal race but the racer in last place is eliminated from the event after each lap or every 30 seconds.
Burnout 3: TakedownEdit
Eliminator in Burnout 3 operates much like Race events. There are five laps and the player must achieve first place by the end to receive the gold medal. There are only five rivals and every time a lap is completed by the driver in second to last place the racer in last place bursts into flames and then removed from the event. It is important for players to stay in first and avoid crashing whenever possible because it is extremely difficult to get back into first place especially when only one opponent remains.
Eliminator events in Burnout Revenge work much like they do in other Burnout games. Eliminator is still fairly similar to Race except it has an unlimited amount of laps and a racer in last place is eliminated every 30 seconds. This continues until only one racer remains on the track. It is important for players to not only avoid being in last place but to also stay close to the leader so that they aren't forced to chase then down later.
