Despite its heavy appearance, the Hunter Cavalry is surprisingly light in the air.

The Hunter Cavalry is the car that the player starts out with in Burnout Paradise. It is a very good car for Freeburn, but for later events, one may want to become more skilled with other more specialized vehicles. However, this car does have some other less-known capabilities, such as it's capacity to jump far. This can come in handy if the player encounters a jump that no other car seems to be able to do.

With its handling changes, it has become less useful in Stunt Run events. Its strength allows it to perform fairly well in Marked Man and Road Rage events.

Description Edit

Not bad for a beginner's car, right? Well, we're not going to make you roll into Paradise in some junk compact your mom gave you. A good all-rounder to get you started.

How to Unlock Edit

Unlocked from the beginning of the game.

Performance Edit

The Hunter Cavalry is an average performer. It has decent straight-line acceleration as compared to other cars around its range like the Nakamura SI-7. It has a weak Boost stat of just '1', meaning that when activated, the Cavalry doesn't tear away from its place like other cars in Burnout Paradise. However, despite its bulky, muscle car appearance, the Cavalry possesses an odd capability to jump very far, which will serve players well in Stunt Run events. Handling wise, the Cavalry is surprisingly capable of responsive Drifting, although it may feel heavy and unwieldy in tight bends. The Cavalry's strong point is its strength rating of '5', allowing players to race aggressively despite the lack of Aggression boost. It also means that the Cavalry is more than capable of holding it's own in a Road Rage. Overall, the Hunter Cavalry is an extremely well rounded starter's car that can be used in a broad range of events. However, players may want to consider becoming more skilled with other, better performing vehicles later on in the game.

Resemblance Edit

This car mixes the '68-'69 Pontiac GTO's front end and hood, the 1969 Mustang Mach One's rear fascia as well as the '70-'74 Barracuda's roofline and line decal. This vehicle reappears in EA's The Godfather II game.

Notes Edit

  • In Burnout Paradise's Free February Update, the Hunter Cavalry's handling was tweaked, lowering its speed from 2 to 1.
  • Burnout Paradise's Free February Update made the acceleration noise slightly different for the Cavalry. This effect was on some other cars.
  • The license plate reads: US-MU-01 which stands for "United States-Muscle-01."
  • During production the Hunter Cavalry was originally manufactured by Carson.
  • The Hunter Cavalry has a V8 engine.
