Like the Ecto-1, the Spirit has some handy contact details.

The Manhattan Spirit is a modified version of the Hunter Manhattan, available as a Legendary Car from the Burnout Store (prices listed below). Like the other Legendary Cars, it has its own section in the Junk Yard for the player to admire it, however you need to purchase it from the Burnout Store, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Live Marketplace to actually be able to take it out for a drive.

It now has a boost type conversion, switching from a Stunt to Aggression car. Even with its speed slightly lowered, its boost and strength means the Manhattan can finally perform Race, Road Rage and Marked Man events. Players will no longer need to worry about finding Stunt Run events, now that it can take a beating against heavy vehicles during Road Rage and Marked Man events.

What's special about the Manhattan Spirit is that it is no longer a lot like the original version of itself, because it has now become an Ecto-1-esque emergency vehicle, though dissimilar to the Hunter Citizen, with extensive roof sirens and family-car extension on the back. When the L3 button is clicked, the sirens will activate. When boosting the siren on the top of the car also rotates. The car handles like an aggressive car should: like a brick, but with a ton of wallop should it hit something.

[edit] Description

This converted Manhattan station wagon might not be the fastest or fleetest car in Paradise, but one's thing for sure - people will definitely know what hit them.

[edit] How to Unlock

The Manhattan Spirit is included with four other vehicles in the Legendary Cars Pack for $7.99, €7.99, £6.29, and 600 Microsoft Points or will be able to be purchased individually for $1.99, €1.99, £1.59, and 160 Microsoft Points.

[edit] Resemblance

The Manhattan Spirit is a parody of the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, which itself was a converted 1950s Cadillac ambulance. The Spirit is fairly accurate to the Ecto-1, having a complex siren system on the roof, tag lines on the body and a primarily white paint job. Base Manhattan features, such as four headlights and tail fins, are also similar to the Ecto-1, and the Manhattan body was even extended to the back to add resemblance.

However, many of the gadgets are incorrect, such as the lack of a ladder and blue pipes on either side, and the trim paint extends all the way up the car instead of stopping at the windscreen (the default colour, like all Legendary vehicles, is also incorrect, being Blue rather than Red).

Understandably, however, the Ghostbusters logo on the front doors have been removed.

[edit] Notes

  • Unlike the Hunter Citizen, the Manhattan Spirit is able to receive a "Driveaway", even when the sirens die out.
  • Unlike the other Manhattan variations, the Manhattan Spirit's front grille can fall off, right after getting hit hard against traffics or the wall.
  • Even with working police sirens, traffics emit no response to any drivable police vehicles at all.
  • This vehicle can't be used in an Online Cops & Robbers game.
