The Hunter Olympus is a vehicle from Burnout Paradise, released after the Cagney Update as one of the two online-only vehicles for any player who did not complete the Graduation Weekend (see How to Unlock). Like the Rai-Jin Turbo and the various newly released motorcycles, it has no boost system. A silver/white boost bar appears however when performing Showtime with this vehicle. It has a modern and powerful appearance and is very capable of plowing through Paradise City traffic, including buses because of its massive weight and size, but excluding indestructible objects. Its acceleration is pretty slow, but once it reaches top speed, it becomes unstoppable. Its handling, like other heavy vehicles, is horrible; it has a difficult time navigating sharp corners or making U-turns. This makes the Olympus an ideal vehicle for online Road Rage or Marked Man events due to its massive, hulking strength, but not for Races due to its poor acceleration and handling.

[edit] Description

Streets of Paradise City has a new king! The Olympus is the biggest and strongest vehicle Hunter have ever produced. Feeble rivals and insignificant commuters now have all the impact of bugs hitting the windshield. It may be slow, and have no boost, but drivers with the skill to coax it up to top speed will be damn near unstoppable.

[edit] How to Unlock

Those who completed the Graduation Weekend Challenge 'Mount Olympus' by winning an Online Road Rage Event while test driving the Hunter Olympus during the weekend of July 26, 2008 unlocked the Olympus for access anytime from the Junkyard.

[edit] Resemblance

The Olympus has strong resemblances to the Range Rover Stormer, the Honda Element's rear suicide doors, the Hummer H2 and the front of the new Ford Flex.

[edit] Note

  • The Olympus has been available to drive since Thursday July 24, 2008. A player needs to visit a junkyard during an Online Freeburn game to access it.
  • After you finish a race and go back into Freeburn, you can start the engine of the Olympus within a couple seconds of it appearing.
  • This vehicle can't be used in an Online Cops and Robbers game.
  • The Olympus is one of four vehicles in Paradise City that can be driven with it's engine fully exposed.
  • After the release of the 1.9 update. This car was made unable to be selected during an online race if Host Lock is on.
