Online Marked Man

From Burnopedia, the Burnout wiki

Online Marked Man is an up-to-eight-player Online event that was released with the other two freeburn game modes in the Cagney update (Online Stunt Run and Online Road Rage). While in freeburn online, the host can select 'Freeburn Game Modes' and then 'Online Marked Man' from the EasyDrive menu. All players must then wait for the first marked man to be chosen.

[edit] The Marked Man

The marked man has no Boost (or in the Hunter Olympus and Nakamura Rai-Jin Turbo RWD's cases, limited speed), making it necessary for the marked man to take shortcuts to avoid the 'Chasers'. The marked man cannot see where the other racers are on the map making it beneficial for him to be cautious and look behind him to see when the 'Chasers' are approaching. The marked man scores two points each time he takes down a 'Chaser' and one point when he makes it 90 seconds without being taken down or crashing.

[edit] The Hunters

Those who are hunting the marked man have unlimited boost and can see all of the racers on their maps making it easier for them to catch up to the marked man. Note that cars with Speed Boost can use their boost even if it is not full like the other boosts while they are hunters. Each time they take down the marked man, they earn a point.

[edit] New Marked Man

After 90 seconds are up, the marked man crashes, or the marked man is taken down, a player who has not yet been the marked man is randomly chosen to be the marked man. The game is over when each player has been the marked man once. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

[edit] Notes

  • Since the 1.90 Xbox 360 update, the Chaser Takedown in Online Marked Man is no longer worth 2 points. Chaser Takedowns on the PS3 version of Burnout Paradise still give 2 points.
