Road Rage (Burnout Paradise)

From Burnopedia, the Burnout wiki

This article is about the offline game event. For the online game mode, see Online Road Rage.

Road Rage is an event in Burnout Paradise.

A Hunter Olympus in progress of a Road Rage

In Paradise City you'll have 16 different Road Rages to attempt, although due to the open-world nature of the game, you can race anywhere in Paradise City once they start. Computer-controlled rivals will constantly spawn around you wherever you go so if you have a favorite place for takedowns you linger in that place and keep taking your rivals down there.

The goals you need to achieve are not set per Road Rage, but based on the number of them that you have completed successfully. Your first event will only require you to earn 3 takedowns. The base time limit will also rise as you progress further through the game.

[edit] Gameplay

Takedown as many rivals as possible to reach the target before time runs out or totaling your car. Each time you takedown a rival, you earned an extended 10 seconds for the clock until you reach the takedown target.

[edit] Strategy

In Paradise, you can also gain an extra 10 seconds for every car you take down until you meet the target score. The biggest difficulty in Paradise's Road Rage is ensuring that you don't wreck your car too many times before you reach your target amount of takedowns.

As with Marked Man, you can use the Auto Repairs scattered around the city to repair your car completely, although you can only use each drive throughs once per Road Rage event. If you crash a lot, make sure you plan your routes to pass them to avoid totaling your car and failing the event.

The car you use in the road rage has nothing to do with the opponents you are pitted against. Your rivals are dependent on your progress in the game. Each license upgrade you obtain only brings faster, heavier, more aggressive vehicles to the table. Using an Aggression boost vehicle with a high strength is advantageous because you will last longer and have more ramming power. Boost only to catch up with vehicles directly in front of you. Boosting for long periods of time is not wise; it speeds up your chances of wrecking. You can easily ram vehicles into the wall or another car as they try to pass you, so use your rear-view camera (default L1 on the PS3 or LB on the X360) often to look behind you to see where the other vehicles are. This is also a good way to prevent your rivals from shunting you, which causes you to lose control of your steering for a second or two.

[edit] Note

  • In Free February Update the time added for each takedown was changed from 5 seconds to 10 seconds and time is no longer added for a takedown after the target is reached.
