South Mountain Drive is a long road in the south-west corner of Paradise City, starting at the top of Hans Way and ending at the southern end of West Lake Drive. It's home to two play areas, the Lone Peaks Quarry and the Lone Peak Stock Car Track, and host to a wide variety of Freeburn Challenges (see below). It is also part of a trio of roads that are prime Road Rage areas due to the narrow yet empty roads (the other two roads are North Mountain Drive and North Rouse Drive). The Drive also is home to the Lone Stallion Ranch finish point.

[edit] Shortcuts

• There's a slight northbound shortcut at the northern-most point of the road going behind a large red barn-like structure the road goes through. This contains a billboard.
• If you're wanting to go down Hans Way, there's a northbound shortcut near the above listed one which cuts the corner of the intersection ahead (great for Races).
• At the northern-most U-bend, there's a shortcut through a dirt road that takes a smaller curve than the road does. This can be taken in both directions.
• In the straight near the Gas Station, there's a shortcut through a tunnel and above the road on a cliff. The south entrance is just before the Gas Station, and the northern most entrance is to the right of a large sign overhanging the road. There's a jump in the middle with a billboard in the center.
• While not a proper shortcut, there's a gated entrance to the local Stock Car Circuit. This is a prime area to drift for a 20x Burnout Award, and several challenges also take place here.
• Just in front of Lone Stallion Ranch are west and westbound entrances to the railway tracks. Unless you perform a U-turn, the westbound entrance will take you onto Lucas Way (be careful of the cement blocks on the right side). The eastbound entrance will take you onto the tracks and on the upper rail level of the bridge. This will eventually end at distant Shephard Avenue, but there are gaps in the bridge down onto South Bay Expressway, a ramp onto I-88, and and several gaps into Parr Avenue and Gabriel Avenue.
• South of the West Lake Drive intersection is a shortcut into another play area, the Quarry. This is a good place to end a Stunt Run, and is also home to a host of Freeburn Challenges.
• Just South of the quarry is a big ramp which takes you to the bottom of the dam and saves you around 0.7 miles. It's also good for flat spins and barrel rolls.
