Special Events are an event type in Burnout 3 where the player races a Single Lap alone to set a fast time. Winning a Gold Medal in this event does not unlock any new events but does unlock a Special Event Postcard of the track they just raced. Winning all Postcards unlocks the Classic Hotrod.
Special Event gameplay mechanics work exactly like Burning Lap events but one of them is a Grand Prix.
