Super Jump Ramps are the most unique of all the ramps. They themselves are not actually ramps. Instead, they are actually one of the other types of ramps indicated with bright blue, pulsating cones (they were originally yellow). In events, as the player flies off the Super Jump ramp, the Super Jump camera takes a snapshot of the player's vehicle in midair. They also happen to be a discovery side quest in Paradise City where the player must find and land all the Super Jumps for a certain car. They are exponentially more useful during Stunt Run events because if the player survives the jump from one of these, they instantly get +1 multiplier regardless of whether they did any other Stunts or had enough Air Time.
There are 50 Super Jumps scattered around Paradise City (10 in each of the 5 districts). They are marked with blinking blue cones (they were originally yellow) before the ramp or fall. When a player jumps from such a ramp or fall the camera angle will change from the standard "behind car" or "bumper" view to a fixed view point and the airborne car will be shown in slow motion and eventually lead up to a snapshot of the car completely frozen in midair before returning to normal speed. Super Jumps are great for Barrel Rolls, Flat Spins, and Air Time bonus multipliers during Stunt Runs. If the player has enough skill and luck, they can be used to get a vertical takedown in events that involve opponents.
Completing all Super Jumps will unlock an award and a bonus vehicle (Jansen Carbon X12), although the player must successfully land the jump and survive in order for it to count. Leaping off the jump and crashing will not count. The player is reset at the top of the ramp if the failed jump results in a crash.
The player will know when they successfully land a Super Jump by a progress message that will appear telling them how many Super Jumps the player has completed out of fifty total. If the player fails a super jump one of two things will happen. If the player has previously landed the super jump then they will just see the usual crash video. If the player did not previously land the jump then they will see a "Super Jump Failed" message after the crash video. This will let them know that they have to retry the jump in order to add it to their count.
Stunt Run Uses Edit
Super Jump ramps are extremely useful for Stunt Run events. As stated above, they give +1 multiplier regardless of whether one achieved any other stunt. Most of them are extremely high which sets up the possibility for Air Time and/or Flat Spins. A few of the Super Jump Ramps are actually Split Ramps, and due to their extremely high elevation, two or more Barrel Rolls are possible on them. This gives the player potential for a lot of multipliers and can make the score go sky high. An example is the one just south of the dam. It is among the most highly elevated and it is a split ramp. It is possible to score a +7 multiplier here by doing two flatspins, two barrel rolls, and air time with the base +1 from the super jump. This also leads to the southernmost bridge that connects Harbor Town to White Mountain which will allow you to gain an additional +8 from more super jumps and billboards.
Other Event Uses Edit
In other events, since Super Jump Ramps are actually one of the other types of ramps, depending on which type, Super Jump Ramps can serve a variety of other purposes. If it is a Curved Ramp, boost can be regained easily, especially if one is using a Stunt boost vehicle. All ramps (except Split Ramps) can be used for vertical takedowns. Still others can provide useful paths such as the raised bridges in certain parts of the city.
Super Jump Walkthrough Edit
The following table gives an efficient route to complete all Super Jumps and unlock the Super Jump achievement. All 50 jumps can be completed with the starting Hunter Cavalry, but naturally faster cars like the Hunter Manhattan or the Hunter Vegas can make trickier jumps easier.
|Super Jump Walkthrough|
|1||Palm Bay Heights - Ocean View||Super Jump #01 is on the north-west corner of the intersection of Lambert Parkway and 7th Street (Westbound). If you are having trouble finding it then keep heading north in town to East Crawford Drive, then go west as far as Lambert Parkway, turn left onto Lambert Parkway and then 7th Street is the second intersection down. You will need a good deal of speed to make this jump so get a run up by heading east down 7th Street. When you land you will be on Newton Drive. Make a U-Turn and head south for the next jump.|
|2||Palm Bay Heights - Ocean View||From Newton Drive head south under the Ocean View archway and then take a right onto Hubbard Avenue. Follow this round to the junction with I-88 Section 3 and join the freeway there, making a U-Turn and heading north. Super Jump #02 is on the left lane of the eastbound side of the road just after the I-88 turns eastward past the tollbooths. Land on the westbound side of the I-88 and drop down the gap in the wall onto the railroad.|
|3||Palm Bay Heights - Ocean View||Face west from where you land after #02 and you will see the cones for #03 leading up a metal stairway leading back up to the I-88 Freeway. After you have made this jump, turn around and drop down onto the railroad again.|
|4||Palm Bay Heights - Big Surf||Head a short way east to Hamilton Avenue and drive north onto the pavement opposite the intersection with East Crawford Drive. Head northeast along the pavement (crossing over E. Crawford) and take the ramp down onto the beachfront. Gather some speed and take jump #04 up onto the roof of the buildings there. (If you do not at least briefly land on the roof you will not be awarded with the Super Jump.) (NOTE: Like several of the Super Jumps, there are ramps on either side of the objective, but it only counts as one jump, regardless of which side you start from)|
|5||Palm Bay Heights - Big Surf||Drive east off the roof of the buildings or along the walkway and carry on along the beachfront and up the next ramp back onto East Crawford Drive. You should see a building being built in the middle of the road with two large cranes. Head to the other side of this building for super jump #05 on the small traffic island immediately past of the building. Give yourself enough road for a run-up and use the Super Jump to fly into the building. (If you do not land at least briefly on the raised floor of the building, you will not be awarded with the Super Jump.) Carry on west through the building and then turn around once you are back on East Crawford Drive.|
|6||Palm Bay Heights - Twin Bridges||Head east again along East Crawford Drive and take the first right, which should be Moore Avenue. At the end of Moore Avenue turn left onto 9th Street and Super Jump #06 is across the broken Paradise Bridge on the first right, on Paradise Avenue.|
|7||Palm Bay Heights - Twin Bridges||Slow down after landing #06 and drop off from Paradise Avenue onto 7th Street (the northern westbound lanes) just before the overhead railroad crosses Paradise Avenue. You will land right beside Super Jump #07. Head west enough for a run-up and then come back for Super Jump #07, which is a jump over Paradise Avenue and back onto 7th. (There is a ramp on either side if you miss the first attempt). After you make the jump, continue east against oncoming traffic to the intersection with Riverside Avenue for Super Jump #08.|
|8||Palm Bay Heights - Twin Bridges||Make a quick right on Riverside and then another quick right onto the eastbound lanes of 7th Street, heading west, and you will soon see Super Jump #08, which is a jump over Root Avenue. Jump this, turn around, and then head east back to the intersection with Riverside Avenue for Super Jump #09.|
|9||Downtown Paradise - Motor City||Cross the bridge on 7th Street and drop down into the train yard on the right before the Paint Shop. Drive south a hundred yards or so south along the train tracks and then turn around. Super Jump #09 is next to the boarding with the black and yellow chevrons painted on it. If you did not make it back up to 7th Street from the jump use the ramp north of the Super Jump to climb back up again.|
|10||Downtown Paradise - Motor City||Continue east along 7th street and turn right onto Webster Avenue. The next Super Jump is at the top of the Parking Garage on the left hand side of the road. Once at the top, jump off Super Jump #10 on the northeast corner of the building, landing on i-88 Section 2. Head south through the tollbooths and use the escape road on the right before the tunnel to get back onto Webster Avenue.|
|11||Downtown Paradise - Waterfront||Super Jump #11 requires a jump from the roof of one building to the next, so it is recommended that a car that can achieve a lot of height, like a Manhattan or Manhattan Custom is chosen. Head south down Webster Avenue and then left onto 4th Street. Look for the Parking Garage signs across and just right of the intersection with Angus Wharf and cross over Angus wharf and into the parking garage, which is on the southeast corner of the intersection of Angus Wharf and 4th Street. Climb to the top of the garage for Super Jump #11. Take the middle ramp on the west side of the garage roof and jump to the roof of the garage across the street. (You can get credit for the jump without making it across, but you can't make #12 if you don't, so climb back up if you land in the street).|
|12||Downtown Paradise - Downtown||#12 is located on the northwest corner of the garage roof you just landed on, behind a smash gate. There is a small drop down onto the next building which you will need a little bit of speed for as there is a gap between the buildings. (If you stopped on the roof after #11, you can still make the jump, but you might need several tries). Once you land, continue along the roof for Super Jump #12, landing somewhere near the intersection between Webster Avenue and 4th Street.|
|13||Downtown Paradise - Waterfront||Head one block south along Webster Avenue to the intersection with Andersen Street and look for the construction site on the southwest corner. Head through the makeshift road inside the building and turn around when you reach the opposite corner. Keep to the left and head back through the building to take Super Jump #13, landing once again on Webster Avenue.|
|14||Downtown Paradise - Waterfront||Go back to the southwest corner of the intersection of Webster Avenue and Andersen Street as per #13, but instead of heading into the construction site head south down the on-ramp for I-88 Section 3. Super Jump #14 is a short way down the freeway in the central reservation. Use this to jump back up onto Webster Avenue at the intersection with 2nd Street.|
|15||Downtown Paradise - River City||Head west along 2nd Street over the intersection with Glancey Avenue, and Super Jump #15 is about half way along the next block on the right hand side. Jump over the pile of earth to complete it, then head north through the park to the other side for #16.|
|16||Downtown Paradise - Downtown||Jump over the pile of earth on the center of the north side of the park for Super Jump #16.|
|17||Downtown Paradise - Downtown||After landing Super Jump #16 head east along 3rd Street, take the first left onto Glancey Street, and then left again onto Andersen Street. Head down the middle of Andersen Street and take the ramp up onto the railroad track. Continue accelerating along the railroad and jump into the shopping mall. Drive through this to the other side for Super Jump #17. At the six-way intersection where you land take Fry Avenue on the south-west road for Super Jump #18.|
|18||Downtown Paradise - Downtown||Super Jump #18 is the northbound ramp outside the entrance to the Parking Garage on Fry Avenue which leads up to the scaffolding there. Drive south to 2nd Street and spin around and you will see it on the left. Take this jump and then turn around going south on Fry Avenue for the next jump.|
|19||Harbor Town - Paradise Wharf||Head south on Fry Avenue to 1st Street and turn right. You will need a decent amount of speed to jump the broken bridge for Super Jump #19.|
|20||Palm Bay Heights - West Acres||From Super Jump #19, head west along 1st Street and turn right down the alleyway just after the intersection with Hamilton Avenue. Bear left at the bottom of the ramp onto the railroad tracks and Super Jump #20 is right in front of you. Take the jump over 2nd Street and then drive slowly back up the ramp onto 2nd Street again, ready for the next jump.|
|21||Palm Bay Heights - West Acres||Head east along 2nd Street and go north at the intersection with Hamilton Avenue. The next two jumps will need a fast car suited to getting height. A Manhattan works well for this, so change cars at the Junkyard on Hamilton Avenue if needed. Fill up with boost at the Gas Station and go a little way north on Hamilton Avenue to the Parking Garage. There is a ramp outside on the southeast corner of the garage that you will use to jump upon to the railroad. If you find this jump difficult, there is also a ramp at the top of the parking garage that can be used instead. Once up, turn around to face north and drive off the Super Jump on the left edge of the railroad.|
|22||Harbor Town - Paradise Wharf||For Super Jump #22 get back up onto the railroad using one of the ramps from #21. Head south and drive off the corner of the railroad where it turns east.|
|23||Harbor Town - South Bay||Head south down Hamilton Avenue and at the intersection with Harber Street bear left onto Warren Avenue past the Auto Repair shop. Turn right onto Manners Avenue and climb to the top of the Parking Garage. Super Jump 23 is in the southwest corner of the roof of the garage. Take the jump slowly or you will end up on I-88 Section 1 (in which case, just drop back down onto Manners Avenue).|
|24||Harbor Town - South Bay||From outside the parking garage for #23, head east along Manners Avenue and turn right onto Shepherd Avenue. At the intersection with South Bay Expressway turn left, and do a U-Turn at the electricity pylon about 100 yards away. Head west back along South Bay Expressway and bear left down the ramp. This super jump requires a decent amount of speed to accelerate all the way down the ramp (on the right it's safer or the left as you face it the other way) to collect Super Jump #24. Continue all the way along the dockfront and through the warehouse until you come out at the intersection of South Bay Expressway and Hall Avenue.|
|25||Harbor Town - South Bay||Super Jump #25 is at the northeast corner of the roof of the Parking Garage on Hall Avenue. You should land somewhere near the intersection of Hall Avenue and Manners Avenue. Head west along Manners Avenue for the next super jump.|
|26||Harbor Town - South Bay||Take the first right onto South Rouse Drive and head north one block, turning left onto Lambert Parkway. Almost immediately, there is an alleyway on the left which heads back down south parallel to South Rouse Drive. Follow this alley, drop down 3 steps, and then take Super Jump #26. Go slowly otherwise you will land on I-88 Section 1, in which case, simply drop down again using the gap in the wall where you jumped through.|
|27||Harbor Town - South Bay||For #27, follow South Rouse Drive again back to the South Bay Expressway, and head west. Just past the shipping containers there is a sliproad, so do a U-Turn just before the South Bay Expressway Bridge and drive over the containers. There is a small step down, then a jump, then finally the super jump. Once you have completed it, head back onto South Bay Expressway and head west.|
|28||Harbor Town - Rockridge Cliffs||Super Jump #28 is on the South Bay Expressway Bridge, so from #27, just head west. The jump is on the raised concrete ramp in the central reservation of the bridge.|
|29||Harbor Town - Rockridge Cliffs||#29 is also on the South Bay Expressway Bridge. Just continue along the bridge, skipping the next raised section. At the end of the bridge turn right onto South Mountain Drive.|
|30||Harbor Town - Rockridge Cliffs||For the next super jump, head a short way along South Mountain Drive and turn right at the next intersection onto Casey Pass. Follow it around to the right and the super jump will be visible. Jump over it to the east side to collect Super Jump #30, and then jump back again and return to the intersection with South Mountain Drive.|
|31||White Mountain - Lone Peaks||Super Jump #31 is near the top of Rockridge Dam, so turn right onto South Mountain Drive and follow the road up as far as Lone Peaks Quarry. When you get to the quarry, turn back down South Mountain Drive and you should see the super jump in the distance ahead of you. When you have landed the jump, turn around on South Mountain Drive and head up the hill again.|
|32||White Mountain - Lone Peaks||Turn into Lone Peaks Quarry when you get that far up South Mountain Drive. The super jump is just inside the entrance on the Split Ramp leading down into the quarry. Drive off of this for #32. From the bottom of the quarry drive south and to the right around the building with two tall chimney stacks. You will see a ramp which leads through a tunnel and back up to South Mountain Drive. Go up this ramp and turn right when you get to South Mountain drive, and then drive once more back up the hill for #33.|
|33||White Mountain - Lone Peaks||To get to the next super jump drive to the top of South Mountain Drive and bear left onto Hans Way. Take the right turn at the first intersection onto Chubb Lane and follow this for a little way to the next intersection and take a left onto Schembri Pass. At the end of Schembri Pass is the intersection with Lucas Way. On the southeast corner of this intersection is a small alleyway which has Super Jump #33 at the end. (Drive into the intersection and turn 170 degrees to the right and you should see it.) Use this to jump down to the dirt track at the bottom of Schembri Pass, and then climb back up again to the intersection with Lucas Way.|
|34||White Mountain - Lone Peaks||Head straight over the intersection of Schembri Way and Lucas Pass. Follow Schembri Way all the way up the hill to where it meets North Mountain Road. Just before the intersection there is a dirt track which bears right and goes through a tunnel/pipeline. Turn around before you reach the tunnel and you will see a short ramp in front of a Billboard, which will lead you to Super Jump #34. Back up further to get a running start and use this ramp to gain access to the raised path and follow it to make two further jumps before leaping off of Super Jump #34 through the hole in the mountainside. (If you fail to make the first part of the jump, you can head up North Mountain past Schembri Way, but before Uphill drive, spin around and join the pipeline there, and stay to the left through the pipeline to make the Billboard jump.) After completing the Super Jump, jump off the end of the dirt track and turn around to face north for Super Jump #35.|
|35||White Mountain - Crystal Summit||For Super Jump #35, head a fair ways north, past the intersection with Schembri Way to the intersection with Uphill Drive. Turn down Uphill Drive, but immediately bear left and follow the dirt track to the left of the yellow digger. Drop down two stages of the Uphill Steps and then the Super Jump is right in front of you.|
|36||White Mountain - Sunset Valley||Continue to the bottom of the Uphill Steps, or drive down Uphill Drive if you keep crashing and getting put back to the top. At the bottom of Uphill Drive turn left onto Nelson Way and then bear left up the dirt track beside the railroad tracks. At the top of the dirt track, turn around and drive back down the railroad tracks. As you pass under the bridge, bear left and head up the ramp to the Gas Station to complete Super Jump #36. (You must clear the Gas Station to be awarded the super jump.)|
|37||White Mountain - Sunset Valley||From behind the Gas Station, get back onto Nelson Way and head north, turning right onto Chubb Lane. Drive down Chubb Lane and take the first left onto West Lake Drive. Just after the Auto Repair, there is a ramp on the right leading down to Super Jump #37. Take this ramp and come back up the other side onto West Lake Drive again.|
|38||White Mountain - Crystal Summit||For Super Jump #38, we have to go back to the railroad track, so turn around and drive south on West Lake Drive, turning right onto Chubb Lane and the left onto Nelson Way. When you get to the Gas Station on Nelson Way turn around and head north, bearing left up the dirt road back onto the railroad tracks. Just after you drive through the ramshackle buildings and before the yellow bridge there is a ramp on the right leading downwards. Take this ramp to complete Super Jump #38.|
|39||White Mountain - Crystal Summit||Follow the dirt track up the hill and through another ramshackle building, then continue along the railroad tracks through a tunnel. Turn around just before the bridge on the other side of the tunnel, and then bear left heading back toward the tunnel. A small access road leads onto Read Lane - take this and then drive west up Read Lane, through yet another ramshackle building. Super Jump #39 is on the left, just past the building, and lands you back down on the railroad tracks. Drive east along the tracks again and use the access road to get back onto Read Lane again, ready for Super Jump #40.|
|40||White Mountain - Crystal Summit||Follow Read Lane uphill to the west as before but follow it to the very top, past Super Jump #39. Turn left onto North Mountain Road at the intersection and follow the road for a while. Just before North Mountain Road turns sharply right there is a dirt ramp with Super Jump #40 at the top. Make this jump and then climb back northeast to the intersection with Read Lane.|
|41||Silver Lake - Hillside Pass||Drive over the intersection with Read Lane and continue onto North Rouse Drive. Take the dirt ramp to the right just before the road splits for Super Jump #41.|
|42||Silver Lake - Hillside Pass||Super Jump #42 is a short ways further along the dirt track from #41. Complete the super jump and continue down the dirt track to rejoin North Rouse Drive.|
|43||Silver Lake - Hillside Pass||Keep driving east down North Rouse Drive and just after the double-hairpin take the dirt track on the right hand side for Super Jump #43.|
|44||Silver Lake - Hillside Pass||Drive even further down North Rouse Drive to the next intersection and turn right onto Lewis Pass. Almost immediately, bear right and take the dirt track that leads up to a wooden boardwalk. Super Jump #44 is at the end of the boardwalk.|
|45||Silver Lake - Hillside Pass||To get to Super Jump #45 follow the Lewis Pass, and after the railroad crosses the road on the mini-map, you will see a dirt path and a motorcycle and Paradise Sports billboard on the right. Take the dirt path and stay to the left and Super Jump #45 is straight ahead, though a barn. If you miss the dirt path, continue down Lewis Pass to the bottom and just before the intersection with Nelson Way turn left and drive back up the hill through the barn. Go far enough to get a running start, then turn around and make the jump. I think you have to go through the barn to be awarded the jump. After jumping through the barn, drive through to land on Nelson Way.|
|46||Silver Lake - Eastern Shore||Head southeast along Nelson Way and turn right onto West Crawford Avenue at the first intersection. Follow West Crawford Avenue a short way to its end and turn left onto East Lake Drive. Just past the intersection with Ross Drive there is a small pathway on the right leading down to a pier. Take this pathway and jump from the ramp at the end of the pier onto Silver Lake Island to collect Super Jump #46. To get back off the island drive to the other end and up the ramp against the building, which will land you back on East Lake Drive.|
|47||Silver Lake - Eastern Shore||Drive southeast along East Lake Drive to the intersection with Ross Drive and this time turn left onto Ross Drive. Follow it to the intersection with Nelson Way and turn right. Drive past the Junk Yard, keeping on the southbound side of the road. A short way past the junkyard is a right turn which leads into the airfield. Take this turn-in and drive to the south end of the runways. Turn around to face north and you will see Super Jump #47 at the entrance to the collapsed hanger on the right. Jump this ramp (you must clear the jump and the circular pipe hanging from the crane to get credit for the jump) and then continue north back to the exit and onto Nelson Way.|
|48||Silver Lake - Heartbreak Hills||For Super Jump #48, head south on Nelson Way and at the first intersection turn right onto Rack Way. Follow Rack Way to the end and turn left, driving south down East Lake Drive. Stay on the right with the southbound traffic and cross the split level bridge, keeping on the right of the road. At the end of the bridge is a ramp leading down to the jetties. Take this ramp and turn around at the bottom, passing under the sign for Angus' Boat Rental. Drive back underneath the split bridge and jump the ramp at the end for Super Jump #48.|
|49||Silver Lake - Heartbreak Hills||Head north along East Lake Drive and take the first right onto Rack Way. Follow Rack Way to its other end and turn left onto South Rouse Drive. When you get as far as the Auto Repair shop turn around and drive south, taking the alleyway left past the first yellow construction crane. Super Jump #49 is at the end of this alley. Turn around after completing the jump and drop back down onto South Rouse Drive, heading north for Super Jump #50.|
|50||Silver Lake - Hillside Pass||Drive north along South Rouse Drive over the first intersection and past where it crosses over West Crawford Drive. Super Jump #50 is in the parking area on the left immediately after the rock archway over the South Rouse Drive. Take this jump to land on the railway and complete the super jump achievement.|
- The slow-motion cutscene of a Super Jump when first discovered was filtered in black and white prior to the Davis Update.
- The Free February Update changed the cones in front of Super Jumps from their original orange to new pulsating blue cones. This made them easier to be noticed either at night or during foggy weather.
- While in slow-mo, lights or indicators on your car will still work in real-time. For example, if you are driving a cop car and you turn on the siren when the car is frozen mid-air during the photo, the lights and siren both work in real-time. Also, in the Rossolini Tempesta/Tempesta GT, if you were to hit the brakes in the moment mentioned earlier, the brakelight in the headlight (see Rossolini Tempesta in notes section) it would flash in real-time, too.
- Vehicle tyres are also not paused by the effects of the slow-mo, but spin much slower.
- In the beta version of Burnout Paradise, the quarry never existed whatsoever.
