What do you think of this district infobox for Big Surf Island (Location), [1] Ignore the stupid place of the picture on the left. Smudger13talk 16:05, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Seems pretty nice to me. The image in the infobox is a good placeholder until we find something much nicer in the future. KonigCCX 16:08, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Shall I Upload? The only thing is all the unknowns every where. Makes it look...boring Smudger13talk 16:12, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Sure. The change can always be undone if something isn't quite right. KonigCCX 16:15, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Actually, I already see a problem with the infobox. The Mega Jumps and Billboards both are not showing up. I have no idea how to correct it either. KonigCCX 16:50, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Where did you get the info about junkyards etc? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smudger13 (talk • contribs)
Here. KonigCCX 17:00, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
I found the problem with the infobox.
- The template is for superjump, not megajump, so for the time being, Super Jump it is.
- The template is broken, therefore doesn't show billboards. See here
Smudger13talk 17:05, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Right. :P I found what the problem was, I just didn't know what needed to be done to fix it. KonigCCX 17:08, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Whoops. Deleted wrong info. Could you add the junkyards etc back in info box, soz, cheers Smudger13talk 17:10, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Made a new info box, hope it works. Smudger13talk 17:21, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
It's not a problem, I'm sure Ex or Rappy will know how to fix the rest of the infobox. KonigCCX 17:33, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Is there anything they cant do. Ive messaged Ex, and he'll probably talk to Rappy. Smudger13talk 17:37, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed, and fixed. Megajumps, superjumps and billboards all work. (Good job on noticing the billboards, the code looked right for it, but wasn't) —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 00:36, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Massive Category Edits
I went pretty crazy with the file category edits, hopefully it isn't too troubling. I might have continued, but after my last edit I checked the next page of files and realized just how massive it was and quit. I'm sure I categorized all of the vehicle images correctly, but if anyone finds an incorrect edit, you know what to do. KonigCCX 07:28, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think what we need to do is when someone is uploading a file, somewhere it needs to say they need to categorize it once it's been uploaded. Or even better, have a section on the upload page where people can categorize it at the same time. Babadingldoo 14:49, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with this, and I will look into how to add that feature as well as other templates to that drop down list. (IE... selecting vehicle image from a drop down list automatically adds Category:Vehicle images to the image uploaded) —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 00:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Where did you get the extra images from Criterion of the new vehicles? They look like they are from the news section, but my browser is only showing 4 images! Enlighten me, Smudger13talk 17:40, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, other burnout members already got a hold of them before I did, but this is basically how it's done.
This is the URL for the first public Olympus Governor image on Criterion's website. It's really by chance, but if you happen to type.. say Island_Governor_03.png at the end of it, you might get lucky and an unreleased image just might appear. [edit] Top Speeds
Since the Paradise vehicle top speeds are being merged with the infoboxes, I was wondering if we could put the files that were used into action on the manufacturer pages. I also thought that if I do make these changes, the manufacturers should disappear from each vehicle link since Hunter is the main article in the first place.
Example
[edit] PCPD Vehicles
Thoughts? KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 02:33, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I have one. Criterion Games are very lazy into not adding a speedometer to determine how fast you are going. It's so easy to add this feature! JMBZ-12 17:06, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
They didn't want to put a speedometer, defeats purpose of the game Smudger13talk 17:21, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
"Defeats the purpose of the game." That doesn't make any sense. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 17:51, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
How does a speedometer defeat the purpose of the game when the game is about speed & every Burnout game (besides Paradise) had a speedometer. I want to know the exact speed I'm going when I smack a bus. Spoil-t 18:03, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
I was thinking if the main HUD we used in Paradise is too crowded, they could clear out everything from the Bumper Cam HUD & add a speedometer there. Not too many people use this camera (that's the point really), but at least we would be able to switch to it if we wished to see our speed & acceleration. [edit] Titles
Just a tidbit of info... if the title for the infobox is the same as the page name, you can remove the title = altogether. If title is missing, it defaults to {{PAGENAME}}. I am not quite sure why everyone even adds the title. Maybe I should just remove that option altogether. Moving the page would automatically update the infobox if title wasn't there. *shrug* —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 19:34, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] monaco.css
You can copy the sites monoco.css over to your space if you want, but you won't see any changes until you change something with it. IE... if you change a color for something in the site in your monoco.css, it will override the settings Ex and I have put into place. Basically, you could make Burnopedia look how YOU want it to, and not how WE want it to. Ex and I could both help you if you wish to change things. 90% of what is in the .css is color and image changes, with a little fine tuning of margins and positions here and there. My monoco.css has a few changes from the sites .css... some of which I will be changing shortly. —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 08:32, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Which do you prefer? ... P.S. I stole your font styling for my sig too =) —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 19:08, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think the orange clashes too much with the links at the bottom, and I still don't like the digits for the infobox. (maybe if we got a hold of green numbers to go with the boost type) And yes, I noticed your new signature, it's pretty sweet. I thought about making mine that small at first, but I wasn't sure if it would be accepted. You have to admit that it's harder to read. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 19:17, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guess it is a little. I was more looking for your opinion on the bottom. Ex likes the orange, I like the blue. I can make some digit numbers with different colors, but I don't know if there is a replace function in wiki markup. It may not even be an easy thing to implement. —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 19:33, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Image Categories
I usually forget too, but you can categorize vehicle images when you upload them using the description box. This saves an edit later down the road to categorize them. For now, please use only Category:Burnout Paradise vehicle images or Category:Big Surf Island vehicle images as these two are sub-categories of Category:Vehicle images. —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 04:14, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- These categories need a huge re-work. A lot of these files had 3-4 categories on them. Ideally, you'd want one category (although that can't always be done) being a category of another. (IE. Category:Burnout Revenge vehicle images being a sub-category of Category:Vehicle images which is a sub-cat of Category:Images) I don't have time to deal with all these now, but they are on my list of things to do. I really need to start something similar to the P12 Community Challenge and do what other sites have set up, and make a Project page outlining projects that need to be done around the wiki. These categories are not something a bot can simply do as they need to be sorted correctly. —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 04:27, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- When I originally made the mass edits to vehicle images, I thought about the exact type of sub-category you mentioned, but I kind of left the matter alone. I plan on another mass edit sometime soon, but I'm not going to rush it. (also, I always thought the more categories the better, but I guess I was wrong) KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 04:34, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well, if they belong to all the categories, yes. But you don't have to have a vehicle image labeled as Category:Burnout Paradise vehicles / Category:Vehicle images / Category:Big Surf Island vehicles / Category:Big Surf Island vehicle images... because obviously a BSI vehicle is a Paradise vehicle... and, images shouldn't be labeled as vehicles (that's used to vehicle pages). For images, we don't really need 3-4 cats, but for vehicle pages, it's fine. IE Toy Nighthawk... would be fine under BSI, Legendary, Toy... possibly even something like Purchasable item as well. (Check out the Cavalry page)... and as far as Burning Routes don't have the manufacturer in their name... they should. If nothing else than for linking purposes. It's stupid to have a link like Carson Fastback Burning Route. As far as I am concerned, the BR pages should include the manufacturer. —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 06:46, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- Eh sorry, that's not exactly what I meant. It should just be listed as Fastback Burning Route because that's what it says in-game. I also meant that the in-game wording for burning routes doesn't mention manufacturers, just vehicle names. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 06:54, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Picture Question
As you may know, I am currently writing many articles for all Paradise City roads and monument/landmarks, my problem is that I have no knowledge of how to get screenshots taken without actually taking pictures with a camera... where does your picture on the Harbor Town page come from, and did you take it? I need to find a way to take aerial photos of paradise city to include in my upcoming articles... C ee X 17:52, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that I didn't capture the image, it's a screenshot from Criterion. =\ KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 18:48, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- I know of a way to get arial shots. Go into Picture Paradise mode (where it goes around the city playing classical music) and when/if it views the landmark, take the shot. As taking pictures goes, you'll have to buy a screen capture device, like a Dazzle, which cost $70. Babadingldoo 18:53, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey there! Thanks for sweeping up the mess I left when I wrote the article concerning Root Avenue like "shorcut" and "pedestrain". However isn't "via" a useable word? You now have sysop rights, which enables you to delete and protect pages, block and unblock users and to have a wider role in the Burnout Wiki community. However you do not yet have bureaucrat rights but if you keep up the excellent work then you may be promoted again! So now you're a sysop; your role in the community has changed once again. You will be asked lots more questions and given more and larger responsibilities. Eventually, you will be much busier and your assistance will be required much more frequently. When new users join the Burnout Wiki, it is recommended that you lead them and oversee their progress for a week or two until they become used to the wiki. Overall this is a bigger step to take, than your last promotion, and you deserve it! Just keep up the amazing work and help the community even more. Thanks a lot. [edit] Re-edits
Hey, sorry but I'll have to moan at you for a second or two. :-( *moans* I just wanted to say that in my opinion, you nitpick on syntax a teenee bit too much. But then again, your perfectionism is what differentiates us both and is certainly why you have been promoted to Administrator. BTW an intelligent question that'll help me understand, what does it change to replace underscores with spaces in file links? C ee X (TALK) Burnopedia Admin - 01:00, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well nothing can be perfect, but admit that I am a picky person. Also, I get rid of underscores like that because I feel it's nothing but unneeded text. Just another picky "perfectionist" habit I have. =P KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 02:57, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- Whether underscores or spaces... doesn't matter... it's still 1 byte of information. I prefer no underscores myself as a matter of habit (unless it's a out-of-wiki link, where you can't use spaces). But yeah, Konig is more anal than me about wiki edits at time =) —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 08:07, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- I see... very intriguing habits I think lol... As long as the content appeals, then I don't care if "El-Train" is spelled with a hyphen or not :-) C ee X (TALK) Burnopedia Admin - 11:47, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry
Hey there, sorry about the rediculous number of page changes, but it seems that evey time I try to preview, my browser freezes, and it has been a min since I saw code. I will post my email and gamertag on my page, as I am only trying to link up with other people who play on a more professional and respectful level. Sorry about the Noobness, buddy. LOL Uncommon509 23:20, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- It's alright, just as long as you don't continue the edits. I really wouldn't have a clue as to why your browser would be freezing up after hitting the preview button, but I do know that you won't have to worry about players who are less than professional/respectful here. We have some great players in our clan, and I hope you get a chance to see that. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 23:25, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Clan Rankings
Is it okay with you if I carry out the emergency promotions required to have CeeX's new ranking system implemented? I'll give you a link on your talk page so you can go over them, if you want. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, see this link.) Oh, and you're number three now that Rappy stepped down. Congrats! Exlonox talk Burnopedia Admin 23:01, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
- Nah, I am still #3, just inactive =p Maybe when he passes me in edits... —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 02:18, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
- Check them out and see if you agree here. Exlonox talk Burnopedia Admin 00:24, September 11, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Protection
Meh, don't abuse protection... that's not what it's for. *frown* —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 02:17, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
- Gah, I'm really sorry. I saw that TheParkster had originally protected his page (along with Exlonox) and had thought that it was okay. I'll go ahead and remove it. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 02:20, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

- A little naive here, how do I un-protect a page, do I have to change the expiration date? -_- ... KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 02:29, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
- Umm, I don't quite remember =p I never protect pages. —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 02:34, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
- Meh, not a 'bad move' just unneeded. Protection should only be used seldomly... and on admin-only type editable pages. Protecting user pages that aren't under an edit attack is actually against wikia's 'standards'. BTW, can you unprotect parksters page too? Ex's already is. —Rappy talk Burnopedia Assistant • 02:40, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

- Actually just as you were typing this I was asking you what to do with TheParkster's page. Btw, I just shorted the protection time for mine. I saw no option to immediately remove protection but it should work anyway. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 02:43, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Clan Card
O.o
That's a very cool clan card you have there! You had a great idea to change the colors, adds some personality to it! I wonder if Rappy would agree to edit the template we currently have so that it would be easier to change the colors... What do you think? Also, I'll nitpick you while I'm at it... ;-P
I think you should just shorten your "Availability", it deforms the template with 4 lines of text when it was made for only 1!
Example: "Available: Online Weekdays after 4PM EST, play Burnout Paradise on the weekends."
And finally, wouldn't you like to show off your card by putting it at the top of your page? Just ideas!
Cheers mate C ee X (TALK) Burnopedia Admin - 08:07, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
- Availability
Even if I shorten the text in this section it would still end up with 2 lines. Although I guess it would look better that way.
- Card color
It would be nice to change the color of the card immediately (without trouble), but I don't want to overhaul Rappy with such work. It's not that big of a deal.
- My card
I would have liked to show off the clan card at the top of my page, but because of the layout I really couldn't do it. Besides, I'm not sure that it would look nice at the top even with readjustments. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 08:46, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
- I think what he means for the card placement is to have it at the top and in the center between contents and your licence. Babadingldoo 16:17, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know. I tried to do that but it ruined the page. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 21:41, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for editing my card because it looks completely messed up on my screen. It's running into the youtube video and has pushed text and images into the wrong areas (and on top of that I see multiple "invalid extension" messages at the bottom of my user page}. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 22:16, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, looks fine to me. Are you using the right resolution? If you don't like it you can always undo it. And I don't know about that invalad extention junk, all those <includeonly>s were there before I edited it. Babadingldoo 22:22, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
- Yes I'm using the right resolution, I just don't have a large screen. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 22:27, September 6, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Clan message
What do you think of this letter to inactive clan members? Exlonox talk Burnopedia Admin 19:29, October 10, 2009 (UTC)
- It seems fine to me. I think you should give Seeks a heads up too; If he sees something he wants to add we can discuss an improvement of the message.

[edit] Annihilator Burning Route Page
deleted "Annihilator Burning Route" (No content/invalid content: Article needs more detailed information, not a small guide that would belong in a forum post or something)
Hey - I put a fair amount of work into that page - granted it lacked some details, but it had no info before and now it has no info again. I thought the point of the Wiki format was that info could be added as needed and as each player knew details until the page was complete ... Tiger-Heli 18:34, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if I was quick to delete your work, but in terms of article completion, we usually for detail like This. If users put a few sentences on a page that hasn't been started and try to call it an article it will usually be deleted by an admin. Sure I could put a stub on it, but the way I see it the page is better off left empty than left with another stub and some fragmented info. KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 18:51, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
- I guess that makes sense - I like the way the page you listed had the shortest route and two alternates. To be honest, I haven't succeeded with the Annihilator Route, so I was looking for help, and figured I'd at least add what I'd completed so far ... Tiger-Heli 19:02, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Ok
Actually, I do have a question, Do I need to give a notice of some kind when I want to join a Meeting? --Biophil12 23:31, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Burnout Paradise Vehicle Pics
Hi, for the main pics of each vehicle in Paradise, do you want the pics to be the Shut Down ones? I've taken quite a few screenshots, so I would be happy to upload them :) --Hakann~ 01:11, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
- If you can take shots of actual shut-downs, that would be great. =) KoenigseggCcx talk Burnopedia Admin 02:45, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Records Page
How do I submit records for the King Of The Roads on BSI? I'm assuming that there's some form of validation going on. With what I have, I'm second in 3 of the 4 categories. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kosigan (talk • contribs)
- First off, sign your posts to forum and talk pages with ~~~~. Secondly, you'll need to join our clan before your records can be added to the clan record pages. Once you join the clan and add the leaders, they can varify via the Criterion Games Network. Exlonox talk Burnopedia Admin 19:11, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
